Port Washington Troop 241 Eagle Scouts Congratulated

On March 19, 2011, Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink (D-Roslyn) attended the Court of Honor held for Port Washington Troop 241 Eagle Scouts Gregory and Daniel Michel at the Sands Point Preserve. Gregory and Daniel each completed a project to fulfill the requirements necessary to earn the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Gregory established and cleared a trail and installed fences at an overlook of Long Island Sound, creating a safe viewing area. Daniel cleared bushes, trees and old compost along a 100-foot stretch of wall on the Queen of Peace Residence property in Queens Village. Daniel patched cracks, sealed, power washed and painted the wall. He also donated a bench to the residents.
Legislator Wink commended both young men for their commitment and dedication to the Boy Scouts of America program and ideals. He presented Gregory and Daniel with a citation from the Nassau County Legislature which recognizes each young man’s hard work.
