Massapequa Elks Lodge #2162 Holds Flag Day Ceremony

The members of the Massapequa Elks Lodge # 2162 held their Annual Flag Day Ceremony at Birch Lane School in Massapequa.  Nassau County Legislator Peter J. Schmitt, himself a member of the Massapequa Elks, was on hand to address the students and introduce the program.  During the program the history of the American Flag was described, noting the changes to the Flag over the years.  Samples of American Flags, all carried by Elks who are Veterans of the Armed Forces were shown to the students from colonial times through today.
