Legislator Mejias Honors Our Volunteer Firefighters

Nassau County Legislator Dave Mejias (D-Farmingdale), center, proclaimed July 8, 2009 as “WBAB Firefighter Appreciation Day” honoring volunteer firefighters from Long Island at the Carlyle on the Green.

He spoke to members of the Farmingdale Fire Department commending them for their efforts and commitment to saving lives often putting their own lives on the line.

Joining Legislator Mejias were firefighters Chris Wright, Roger Schlingloff; ex-chief Richie Tortoso; Chief Keith Ryan; Commissioner Ken Rameo; and firefighters Jason Flemmings and Thomas Jorgensen.
