Presiding Officer Yatauro Honors K-9 Unit and Thunder

Nassau County Legislature’s Presiding Officer Diane Yatauro (D-Glen Cove) was joined by her colleagues in government recently to honor the Nassau County Police Department’s K-9 Unit’s Officer John Larson and his four-legged “partner” in law enforcement, Thunder.

During a one-week period last summer, PO Larson and Thunder collared an ex-convict who tried to attack an officer and then another

person hiding in a shed who was suspected of slashing a man. Officer Larson, Thunder and all the members of the NCPD K-9 unite were congratulated for their professionalism and dedication to duty. Pictured in chambers are: Presiding Officer Diane Yatauro holding a special
