Denenberg Honors Eagle Scout David Portmore

Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) attended the Court of Honor held in Mepham High School for David Portmore, the newly-elevated Eagle Scout from Troop 577 of North Bellmore. The Troop is sponsored by American Legion Post 1749. To achieve the prestigious rank of Eagle, David built two sun shelters at a low income, senior citizen housing center in his community. He also beautified the senior citizens’ outdoor recreation area by planting gardens. The project took 230 hours to complete with 35 volunteers lending a hand.
