Legislator Denenberg Joins American Legion Members at Nassau County's 10th Veterans Stand Down
Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) joined veterans at Nassau County’s 10th Veterans Stand Down. The community based intervention program is designed to help homeless veterans “combat” life on the streets. The Stand Down, the 10th for Long Island, is part of the program, VETS (Veterans Employment and Training Services) established by the Nassau County Veterans Services Agency and the Education & Assistance Corporation. The VETS program helps Nassau County veterans find employment and permanent housing.

veterans including, Charles Colucci; Ned Johnson; Sal Martella, Elmont; Gabriel Limongelli; Dan Yngstrom, Merrick; Nick Yaworski;
Bruce Burnham, Freeport; Bob Kohler, Bellmore; Frank Colon; Ron Sabo; Jack Holtzman; Paul Smith; Bob English, Freeport; Pat Yngstrom, Merrick; and Rob Reichel, Merrick. Many of the veterans attending belong to the Vietnam War Veterans Association, based in North Bellmore
