Be prepared. Nassau County is very susceptible to the powerful and destructive nature of hurricanes. What you have on hand when a hurricane hits can make a big difference in how well your family handles it. Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) is hosting a hurricane preparedness and flood insurance information session to prepare residents for the hurricane season which is now upon us. Appropriate preparations, precautions, protection for your family, pets, home and possessions will be discussed. Also, the new FEMA flood map will be discussed and what residents need to do if they are in the new zone. For further information, call Legislator Denenberg at (516) 571-6219.
