On Sunday April 22, 2012, Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg, D-Merrick, attended Merrick American Legion Post No. 1282’s Law and Order Ceremony. The event was held to honor police officers of the NCPD First and Seventh Precincts, Merrick and North Merrick Fire Departments, New York State Police and Bellmore/Merrick Volunteer Service. Each honoree was commended for their service beyond the call of duty and commitment to the community.
