Legislator Denenberg Attends Socks for Soldiers at Birch Elementary

Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) recently attended a 1950s-style sock hop with a 2010 message at the Birch Elementary School in Merrick. The sock hop was organized by the students and staff and given an additional name “Socks for Soldiers.” The children asked participants to bring donations of socks for our men and women in uniform currently stationed in harms’ way. Legislator Denenberg is pictured making a donation with several of the students.
