Legislator Denenberg Installs Members of Wantagh Preservation Society

Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick), right, installs members of the Wantagh Preservation Society that included, from left, Robert and Ellen Cook, Alice Blaustein, Dick MacMillan, Joshua Soren, and Chris Wendt at the Wantagh Library. The Wantagh Preservation Society, a non-profit organization maintains the Wantagh Museum and is dedicated to improving the historical and environmental values of the community. Founded in 1965, the Wantagh Preservation Society was created to save Wantagh's Victorian Railroad Station from demolition, when plans for the present elevated railroad crossing called for its removal.
