Legislator Scannell Provides Funds for Baldwin Downtown Revitalization

Legislator Joe Scannell (D-Baldwin) obtained $600,000 in Nassau County Community Revitalization Project funds for the revitalization of the Waldbaum’s Shopping Center in Baldwin’s downtown. The project includes the installation of antique lights, benches, walkways, and various other essential improvements. Legislator Scannell said, “This project will dramatically increase pedestrian safety and it will esthetically enhance the shopping center. It is a great step forward to sustain our existing businesses and to attract much needed new enterprises to Baldwin’s downtown.” Legislator Scannell is pictured seated on one of the newly installed benches with Baldwin Chamber of Commerce co-presidents Erik Mahler and Ralph Rose; and LeRoy Roberts, the Commissioner of Sanitation District #2.
