Leg. Scannell Secures Funds for Rockville Centre
Nassau County Legislator Joe Scannell (D-Baldwin) attended the October 17th Rockville Centre Village Board meeting and presented three ceremonial checks to Village officials. Legislator Scannell secured $410,000 for the refurbishment of Centennial Park and a new office for the Auxiliary Police. Legislator Scannell presented another check for $38,300 which represented the funding for a traffic enforcement vehicle and 15 two-way radios. He presented a check for $100,000 to help build the Firefighters 911 Memorial on North Forest Avenue.
Legislator Scannell said, “Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to provide the necessary resources to help enhance and protect our community. The funding for Centennial Park will renovate that recreational area for the benefit of our residents. The traffic enforcement vehicle and the two-way radios will provide greater public safety protection for Rockville Centre. I was particularly moved by the RVC Firefighters’ who brought three steel beams from Ground Zero in tribute to all those who lost their lives on 911.”
