Leg Scannell Celebrates Flipping the Switch On Nunley's Carousel

Nassau County Legislator Joe Scannell attended the long-awaited flipping of the switch on the refurbished Nunley’s Carousel, the 1912 amusement park ride that he provided $425,000 in revitalization funds to repair. The carousel is scheduled to open to the public on May 2.

“It was an honor to lead the effort to save and restore this treasured piece of our South Shore community’s history,” Legislator Scannell said. “The carousel, which came to symbolize Baldwin for decades, is now available at its new location to be enjoyed by all for decades to come.”
