Scannell Maps Out the Future for First Precinct

Nassau County Legislator Joe Scannell (D-Baldwin) points to the pending construction for the recently-leased property

that will be the new home of the First Precinct. The facility, on Grand Avenue in Baldwin, is an 18,000 square foot structure

that will contain state-of-the-art technology. Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2010.
Legislator Scannell said, “The relocation of the First Precinct is a collaboration of many individuals, organizations and the

police department. I am proud to be a part of this achievement which reflects the hard work of our civic associations,

our local business community, our police department and our school officials.

Joining Legislator Scannell at the site of the future home of the First Precinct are, left to right: Nassau County Police Commissioner Lawrence Mulvey; Inspector Mike Studdert; PBA president Jim Carver; Legislator Joe Scannell; County Executive Tom Suozzi and Deputy Chief John Hunter.
