Legislator Toback Secures Branch Blvd. Sidewalk Project Funding

Nassau County Legislator Jeff Toback (D-Oceanside) was successful in his effort to fund the long-awaited rehabilitation of the Branch Boulevard sidewalks in Cedarhurst.

“In order to circumvent the perilous condition of the sidewalks, pedestrians are forced to walk in the street.” Toback said, “I fought hard to secure the funding for this project. Public safety is not something I am willing to put on the back burner.”

Weather permitting, the Branch Boulevard project will be conducted in phases and consists of replacing sidewalks, curbs, and planting trees. The cost will be approximately $3—4 million.
Preliminary work will commence late this fall in preparation for the major scope of the project.
The work is expected to be completed in the spring.
