Legislator Wink Honors Karli Forman Hagedorn

Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink (D-Roslyn) proudly honored Karli Forman Hagedorn as the 2010 Nassau County Legislature Trailblazer on March 22, 2010 as a tribute to Women’s History Month.
Legislator Wink said, “I am proud to honor Karli Hagedorn today. Karli’s philanthropic work has touched the lives of countless children and has inspired us all. I would like to thank Karli and her family for all of the great work they do.”

Ms. Hagedorn is the President of the Friends of Sands Point Preserve, which manages the 216-acre former Guggenheim property for Nassau County. She is the Chair and, with her husband Jim, a founding director of Farms for City Kids Foundation which is a public not-for-profit organization that offers 700 city children an opportunity to live and work on an operating dairy and cheese farm in Vermont. Ms. Hagedorn has served on the boards of the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Buckley Country Day School, the Portledge School and the Family and Children’s Association. Her philanthropic interests are focused on the needs of urban children and sustainable agriculture and food production. Ms. Hagedorn is a lifelong resident of Sands Point and is a graduate of Vassar College.
