Nassau County Legislator Dave Mejias (D-Farmingdale) takes a practice swing at the Old Bethpage Restoration vintage base ball tournament where nine historic teams competed in a weekend celebration of base ball played according to the rules in effect between 1860 and 1899. Players wore the uniforms and used the equipment of the time showcasing the roots of our nation’s favorite pastime.
