Legislator Mejias Thanks Don Dreyer For His Commitment to the Physically Challenged
Nassau County Legislator Dave Mejias (D-Farmingdale) thanked Don Dreyer, the executive director of the Nassau County Office for the Physically Challenged who is retiring at a recent session of the legislature presenting him with a county citation. Dreyer has committed 32 years of his life to advocating for people with disabilities and their families. Although he has suffered from brittle bone disease since birth and remains in a wheelchair, Dreyer affected policy changes in healthcare, government and business that will safeguard the rights of physically challenged individuals for generations to come.
“I wish to thank Don for all that he’s accomplished for the physically challenged,” Legislator Mejias said. “He’s always been there to champion their rights, and he’s been relentless in his determination to ensure that their voices be heard. Don’s efforts have made a difference in so many lives. He will be missed.”
