Consumer Affairs Crackdown Results in Prison Term

Commissioner Bogsted

In culmination of a recent sting operation, Nassau County’s Office of Consumer Affairs announced today that a former employee of Complete Chimney has pleaded guilty to a Felony Scheme to Defraud. John Calvert has received a sentence of 1 ½ to 3 yrs. in an upstate correctional facility. Complete Chimney has had its license revoked and can no longer conduct business in Nassau County. “We have zero tolerance for unscrupulous vendors defrauding consumers” stated Nassau County Commissioner of Consumer Affairs, Roger C. Bogsted. Commissioner Bogsted warned other would-be schemers that they face the same consequences if they attempt to scam consumers in Nassau County.
