The Final Plan

The Nassau County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan development process is now complete.  The Draft Plan was first released on this web page in June 2006. Based on comments received, a Revised Draft was posted here in July 2006.  FEMA Region 2 reviewed the Revised Draft, and indicated in February 2007 that it was approvable with no required revisions.  The plan name was changed from “Revised Draft” to “Final” and has been posted here in place of the earlier drafts. Document repositories were also established at nine locations throughout Nassau County.  They have been updated periodically with hard copies of meeting minutes, handouts, etc. as well as the Plan itself.  Click here for a list of established document repositories. Nassau County passed a resolution to formally adopt this Final Plan on March 5, 2007.

Jurisdictions that have not yet provided their adoption resolutions are not currently recognized by FEMA as having the plan in place.  This plan is a “living document”.  It will be monitored, evaluated, and updated on a 5-year cycle.  Any future updates will be posted here.
