Singer Giada Valenti Headlines Italian American Night at Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park, June 25
Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi will welcome world renowned singer and songwriter Giada Valenti to Eisenhower Park's Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre stage for Italian American Night, on Monday evening, June 25.
Valenti, known internationally as “Italy’s Voice of Love,” is recognized for her special voice and magnificent stage presence. In Italy, she is compared with Mina and Ornella Vanoni, and in the U.S. with Peggy Lee and Diana Krall. Born in Venice and now a New Yorker, Giada has appeared at many hotels and clubs in the tri-state area and at Shea and Yankee stadiums.
The Italian American Night show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Concert-goers are encouraged to arrive at the Lakeside Theatre at 5 p.m. for “Festa Italiana,” featuring such Italian specialties as pizza, sausage and peppers, gelati and zeppoli.
The International Music Night and Noontime Concert series is presented through a grant from Canon USA. Italian American Night is coordinated by the Grand Lodge of New York Order Sons of Italy in America. The International Music Nights Summer Concert Series is presented by the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums in recognition of the unique ethnic diversity enjoyed by Nassau County.
The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is located near parking fields 6 and 6A in Eisenhower Park. Special accommodations are available for disabled patrons, including reserved parking, easily accessible restrooms, and a convenient reserved location on the hill. Assistive hearing devices are available for the hearing impaired.
There is no formal seating at Lakeside Theater, so concert-goers are urged to bring folding chairs. If weather conditions appear threatening, call (516) 572-0355 after 7 p.m. for updated performance information.
