Lakeside Theatre Presents German American Night on July 9
The International Music Nights Concert Series will present German American Night at the Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park on Monday, July 9, announced Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi. The free program will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Headlining the program will be the New York Main Squeeze, an all-girl 14-piece accordion orchestra, making their first Long Island appearance. Also performing will be the Original Enzianer and its Kinder Group, Schuhplattler Bavarian Dancers; Trumpet Soloist Professor William Taubner; mezzo soprano Una Harders; and the Blaue Jungs and Hanseaten Deerns. William Hetzler will be master of ceremonies.
The International Music Nights Summer Concert Series is presented by the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums in recognition of Nassau County's unique ethnic diversity. Through a generous grant from Canon USA Inc., 19 International Music Nights will be presented this summer, free of charge. The concert is co-sponsored by Lufthansa German Airlines and the German Consulate General of NEw York, and is organized by the German American Cultural Council’s Eisenhower Park Music Night Committee.
The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is located near parking fields 6 and 6A in Eisenhower Park. Special accommodations are available for disabled patrons, including reserved parking, easily accessible restrooms, and a convenient reserved location on the hill.
