Garvies Point Museum Presents "Masks and More" on October 31
The Garvies Point Museum and Preserve, located in a beautiful setting by Hempstead Harbor in Glen Cove, will present “Masks and More” on October 31 between noon and 3:30 p.m., celebrating Native-American activities, crafts and recreation, announced Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi.
The program includes several hands-on activities, such as mask-making and face-painting with natural pigments. In addition, children will have the opportunity to make "slime" out of a variety of materials. "The Loon's Necklace," a brief movie based on Native-American tales, will also be shown.
The Garvies Point Museum and beautiful adjoining 62-acre preserve are located at 50 Barry Drive in Glen Cove by Hempstead Harbor. Admission to the museum is $3 for adults and $2 for children 5 to 12 (those under 5 years of age are admitted free when accompanied by a parent).
