Garvies Point Museum Presents Program About Honeybees on July 24

The Garvies Point Museum and Preserve in Glen Cove will present a family-friendly program about honeybees at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, announced Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano.

The program, conducted by beekeeper Frank Hurley and titled “Everything You Wanted to Know About Honeybees But Had No One to Ask,” will include a brief lecture and an exhibit consisting of a beehive, the tools used for beekeeping, and an observation hive with a colony of live bees.

The Garvies Point Museum and beautiful adjoining 62-acre preserve are located at 50 Barry Drive in Glen Cove by Hempstead Harbor. Admission to the museum is $3 for adults and $2 for children 5 to 12 (those under 5 years of age are admitted free when accompanied by a parent).
