A cooperative effort between Nassau County and Hofstra University, the Institute is a major center for research about Long Island, open to scholars, writers, teachers and students. The facility houses a rich collection of books, photos, maps, local newspapers, census records, genealogies, manuscripts, government documents and audiovisual material.
