Homeowners and/or contractors building homes or commercial structures or storing fireworks may require permits issued by the Nassau County Fire Marshal. The Fire Marshal issues permits, certificates, licenses and approvals for the following areas:

• flammable/combustible storage
• automatic fire alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers
• hood and duct systems
• building inspections
• compressed gas transport
• welding and cutting fitness
• generator and/or emergency light load
• liquid and solid oxidizer handling
• pyrotechnics
