The Nassau County Leisure Passport identifies its holder as a Nassau County resident and is required for entry into many recreational facilities such as pools, rinks, golf courses, tennis courts, beaches, marinas, cabanas, etc. and most parks operated by the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums. Discounts are granted on certain fees for golf, swimming and ice skating to those residents holding specially marked Leisure Passports (senior citizens, veterans, and persons who have chronic physical or mental disabilities). Medical documentation is required before a Disabled Leisure Passport can be issued. Senior and Disabled Passports remain valid for as long as Nassau County residency is maintained. For all others, the Passport remains valid for three years from effective date. Veterans Passports also remain valid for three years; however, the veteran need show proof of service only once.

The fee for the Leisure Passport is $15.00.

In general, a Leisure Passport is required of residents 13 years of age and older. Youngsters ages 10 and over who utilize county-operated golf courses must possess a Leisure Passport.

Leisure Passports include holder’s photo, therefore all applications must be made in person. To obtain a Leisure Passport, be prepared to present proof of Nassau County residency. The following are acceptable:

  1. A valid and current New York State driver's license or non-driver's identification
  2. Recent property tax bill
  3. Recent utility bill
  4. Current school I.D. card (children)
  5. Recent cancelled rent check (with address imprinted)
  6. Deed
  7. Library card (children)
  8. Voter’s Registration Card

If Item #1 is presented, no other proof is necessary. If items #2 through #8 are presented, two proofs of residency are required, one being a photo ID.

Leisure Passport should be kept in a safe place. If it is lost, stolen or damaged, it will not be replaced. You will be required to reapply for a new Leisure Passport and re-pay the $15 fee.
