What do I get when I search for parking tickets?
Two search methods are provided to look up outstanding parking tickets:
A ticket number with the vehicle plate number will display the ticket that matches the
ticket number you entered only.
A vehicle plate number with the state name will display all outstanding unpaid tickets
for that vehicle.
Why can't I find my ticket(s) online?
There are several possible reasons why a ticket may not found in the system:
Search criteria may have been entered incorrectly.
The ticket has not been added to the system yet. Use the link "Latest Processing Date"
to check if your ticket has been entered into the system based on the ticket issue date.
The ticket has to be processed by Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency (TPVA) only.
The ticket has no outstanding balance.
Can I make a partial payment for a ticket online?
No, tickets have to be paid in full.
Can I make a payment online on multiple tickets?
Yes, you can pick and choose any number of displayed tickets to pay.
Can I make a payment online if the ticket is past due?
Yes, the tickets past due date have late fee automatically added. You can still make the payment online.
How long does it take for the online payment to reach TPVA?
Online payments are normally processed immediately but they can take up to 2-3 business days to
be reflected in the system. Online payments made immediately before due date may still be recorded
after the due date resulting in late fee being added to the ticket. It is recommended that you make payments at least 3 to 5 days before the due date to avoid the late fee when using the online service.
How do I know that my payment has been successfully accepted by the online system?
You will see a "Payment Confirmation" page with a unique transaction number and the details of the payment. You will also receive an email containing this payment transaction information at the email address you specified when making the payment.
I accidentally made the payment twice on the same ticket? How do I get the refund? You should contact your credit card company to have one of the payment transactions reversed.
I received a message "not able to confirm my payment" while making an online payment. What should I do?
In rare cases when we can not confirm your payment status after sending it to our partner for credit card processing, you might receive this type of message. If you have received this message your payment may or may not have been processed. We will continuously check with our partner for the status of this credit card processing for up to 24 hours and update your transaction status accordingly. If the payment cannot be confirmed after 24 hours you would see the status 'Error in Processing.....Please contact TPVA.' You should contact TPVA (516-572-2389) for assistance if you see this status.
Can I check the payment status of any parking tickets?
No, you can only check the status of parking tickets that were paid online using this system.
What do the different transaction codes mean?
Paid: The payment has been processed successfully. Please note that it may still take up to 2-3 business days after the transaction date for the tickets listed in this transaction to be posted to the system.
Processing: The payment is still in the processing stage and the transaction has
not been completed yet.
Error: Either the payment information is invalid (i.e. credit card not valid) or there is a problem with the communication to our partner for credit card processing. If you moved recently the address may not be updated. The zip code is also validated. If you name or address includes an apostrophe you can try to submit without the apostrophe. You can either resubmit your payment with valid payment information or wait until the communication problem has been corrected.
Error in Processing.....Please contact TPVA: The payment information cannot be confirmed within 24 hours of the transaction time. Please contact TPVA (516-572-2389) for assistance.
Cancelled: The payment has been successfully cancelled.
Cancellation Processing: The payment is still in the cancellation processing stage.
