The Tax Records department of the Treasurer’s Office maintains all records of and collects payments on delinquent Nassau County Property Taxes.  For the Towns of Hempstead, North Hempstead and Oyster Bay, this includes both the full General Taxes and School Taxes.  The City of Glen cove handles their own School Tax delinquencies, so only delinquent General taxes from Glen Cove are paid to the County Treasurer.  General and School delinquent taxes are also collected for the City of Long Beach, however only the County portion of the General Tax.

Delinquent taxes can be paid either in person, sent via postal mail, or online by using our credit card and ACH/electronic check payment application. The online payment application will be made available to pay current-year delinquent taxes through May 27th, 2021.  The application cannot be used to pay property tax liens.

Governor Cuomo has signed legislation extending the above COVID-19 relief bill until August 31st, 2021. Anyone wishing to file a hardship claim may do so by following this link to the NYS Department of Taxation & Finance website to download the form. By filing this form in timely fashion with the County Treasurer, your property will be removed from Nassau County’s 2020 Property Tax Lien Sale while the legislation is still in effect. The form must be property filled out and signed, then filed in our office prior to the sale. Please refer back to this site for when the sale is to be rescheduled in the near future.
