Motorists who do not appear in court and/or pay fines by the date specified may be issued a notice of suspension by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles which becomes effective if the motorist does not appear and/or pay before the specified date. Driving with a suspended license is a misdemeanor and subjects the motorist to arrest!
