MWBE Business Registration Information

Welcome to the Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs information page. We wish to share with you new and innovative initiatives with the goal of opening the doors of opportunity wider for Minority, Women and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises to take full advantage of doing business with Nassau County. Nassau County, under the leadership of County Executive, Edward P. Mangano and the Office of Minority Affairs has taken bold steps to expand and strengthen the “Rules” regarding the County’s MWBE program. 

To improve, expedite and streamline the Minority and/or Women Business Enterprise       certification process, effective May 15th 2016 all vendors who are currently certified by New York State’s Empire State Development Corporation are automatically M/WBE certified by Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs.

To Register to do business with Nassau County:

Step 1:
Step 2: Click “E-Services” on the top of the page
Step 3:
Scroll down the right column and click “Vendor Registration” 
Step 4: In the upper right corner click “Sign Up
Step 5: Read page content scroll down click “Next”
Step 6: “Vendors” Column (right side of page) check “I am a new Vendor” and all other options that apply.  Click “Next” 
Step 7: Read Terms and check Agreement box.  Click “Next”
Step 8: Complete All Fields in their entirety.  **NIGP Class, also known as       Commodity Codes is the categorization used to classify vendor products and services.  Selecting and indicating ALL applicable commodity codes   ensures that your business will be alerted/included when relevant bidding opportunities are available.  This is extremely important for your success.
Click “Next”
Step 9: Complete All Fields in their entirety.  Click “Next”
Step 10: Review payment fees.  Click “Next”
Step 11: Fill in Card Information.  Accepted Payments are Visa & MasterCard only.
Click “Create Account”
Step 12:
Congratulations you have successfully Registered to do business with     Nassau County!

To Certify as an MWBE with New York State:

Step 1: Visit
Step 2:
At the top of the page, in the “ Navigating NYS MWBE Certification” box Click 
Step 3:
Read “Online M/WBE Certification”   Scroll down and Click “Create Account” 
Step 4:
Follow Directions and Complete Application. Applicants that certify with NYS Empire State Development are automatically certified as a MWBE business with Nassau County.
