MLK Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee of Nassau County Inc.

Martin Luther King Jr. BustWho We Are: The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee of Nassau County is a non-profit organization dedicated to continuing the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, and the intellectual advancement of Nassau County youth by way of support through scholarship.

Mission: The purpose of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee of Nassau County Holiday Weekend Observance is to raise funds to provide disadvantaged Nassau County High School Seniors Scholarships to assist them in their Higher Education goals.

Vision: In honor of this great American, the County Executive and the citizens of this county, have deemed it important to hold a special commemorative celebration in an effort to recapture the spirit of full equality which was the essence of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and to remind us all that the many concerns that he lived for remain today as relevant as they were in the 1960's.

In order for this commemorative celebration to be successful and reach every citizen of our county, we have adopted the theme "People Working and Living Together". We welcome business, religious and educational communities, joining with government, labor and our youth to support this county-wide commemorative celebration.

How You Can Help: Each year, we count on the support from our local community to make our commemorative celebration possible. Your help is crucial in the accomplishment of Dr. King's dreams; that people live in peace and love with the opportunity to pursue a decent and fruitful life. Please consider supporting us by purchasing an individual ticket or by purchasing a full table (10) at our annual youth scholarship luncheon.
