The Office of the Nassau County Comptroller is excited to announce this year’s High School Innovation Awards. Born out of the annual Achievement Award, the Office is offering an updated criteria inspired by student innovation. All high schools across Nassau County are eligible to nominate one student per graduating class (Class of 2019) to be honored with a 2019 Innovation Award. Each student honored with the 2019 Innovation Award will receive a Certificate of Recognition and a Nassau County pin.
Innovative students confront a problem or challenge facing them or their community and make a positive impact through their efforts. Candidates should be high-achieving students with strong academic and personal records who have a personal commitment to innovation, whether that be through entrepreneurship, community service, or academics. A short essay from the candidate is requested and preferred; however, a recommendation letter will be
accepted if necessary.
