(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – In observance of Earth Day, Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) and Assemblywoman Judy Griffin joined Freeport residents and 20 volunteers from the Freeport Green Army on Saturday, April 23 at the Freeport Brookside Preserve for a community clean-up. During the event, volunteers cleared 20 bags of trash and debris from the preserve and gave the park some much-deserved springtime TLC.
“Each year, Americans celebrate Earth Day to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our environment, keeping our green open spaces beautiful, and taking bold action to persevere our planet for future generations,” Legislator Mulé said. “Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to the preserve and worked so hard to beautify this preserve for the enjoyment of all Nassau County residents!”
