Malverne, NY— On February 2nd, Legislator Bill Gaylor attended the 28th annual Groundhog Day festivities at Crossroads farm At Grossmans in Malverne. Malverne is home to a famous groundhog, Malverne Mel, that annually predicts the future weather.
Crossroads Farm is a non-profit organic farm that operates on volunteers and the farm has a mission to educate people about agriculture.
This year, Malverne Mel saw no shadow which is an indication of an early spring. Joining Legislator Gaylor were many Malverne residents, several prominent members of The Malverne Village government, New York State Assemblyman Brian Curran, New York State Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick, The Town of Hempstead Receiver of Taxes, and of course, Malverne Mel.
