Valley Stream, NY — Due to the increase in inflation and food insecurity around the County, Legislator Bill Gaylor teamed up with Valley Stream Village Mayor Edwin Fare, village officials and Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church to hold a two weeklong food drive at Valley Stream Village Hall. The program was a huge success, bringing in numerous bags of food. The food and paper items were brought to Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Churches food drive and outreach program where they were accepted by Sister Margie Kelly.
“I am very happy by the amount of food items and paper goods that were donated to help those who are hungry,” Legislator Gaylor said. “Thank you to everyone who helped out. We managed to fill Holy Name of Mary’s Food Pantry! Remember, food insecurity is still a major issue on Long Island, and I urge everyone to help out their local food pantries to make sure everyone is able to put food on their table.”
