(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – On Monday, March 6, Nassau County Legislature Presiding Officer Richard J. Nicolello (R – New Hyde Park) announced he will not seek re-election this November. Following his announcement, Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams (D – Freeport) issued the following statement:
“Since the inception of the Nassau County Legislature, Rich Nicolello has distinguished himself as a statesman and a gentleman who served the people of this County with distinction for nearly three decades,” Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams (D – Freeport) said. “While we have had disagreements along the way, I will always be grateful that these debates never undermined our friendship and the mutual respect that we have for each other. I join my colleagues in wishing him and his family only the best in the years to come.
