WHAT –Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport), New York State Senator Kevin Thomas and Freeport-based nonprofit The Green Army are inviting residents, park lovers and environmentalists to join them in giving Freeport’s Brookside Preserve some springtime TLC during an Earth Day community clean-up on the morning of Saturday, April 22.
Garbage bags and plastic gloves will be provided by organizers; participants are encouraged to bring pokers, rakes, grabbers, and other supplemental tools. To safeguard against ticks and other hazards, attendees are encouraged to wear long sleeves, pants, socks, and other protective attire.
