(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – To celebrate April as Autism Awareness Month, Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) joined members of the Hangout One Happy Place Inc., her colleagues in government and residents to support the foundation’s annual “Walk for Autism Awareness” on Saturday, April 22 at the Baldwin Harbor Park. The event, highlights individuals on the autism spectrum talents while promoting acceptance and inclusion in the surrounding communities.
“Not only does this wonderful tradition unite our community and raise awareness about autism, but it also gives individuals with autism a safe place to have fun,” Legislator Mulé said. “I applaud Angela for her leadership and bringing the community together to celebrate our differences.”
