Bellmore, NY—On June 11th, Legislator Michael Giangregorio presented the Bellmore Fire District with a voucher for $50,000 for the fire department to procure new pagers for the department. These pagers will help the department to contact their firefighters reliably and quickly during emergency situations where every second counts. It is crucial for the public safety of the county that our emergency personnel have the right equipment to do their selfless job of keeping the residents of their area safe.
The Bellmore Fire District is a volunteer fire department that was started in 1897 and provides dedicated, twenty-four-seven protection to all the residents, businesses, and property within a four-mile-radius of the district.
“Last weekend I presented a Community Revitalization Program Grant check to the Bellmore Fire District for $50,000 to purchase new pagers,” Legislator Giangregorio said. “These pagers will help the firefighters respond to jobs faster and allow them to get organized more efficiently at the scene of a fire. Thank you, firefighters, for all you do!”
