Mulé and Koslow Join Forces With The Green Army For Earth Day Clean-Up at Freeport’s Brookside Pres

WHAT – Ahead of the April 22 observance of Earth Day in America, Nassau County Legislators Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) and Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) will join forces with Freeport-based nonprofit The Green Army, residents, park lovers and local stakeholders from the South Shore Audubon Society, Freeport Rotary Club and Operation Splash for an Earth Day community clean-up at Freeport’s Brookside Preserve on Saturday, April 20

Garbage bags and plastic gloves will be provided by organizers; participants are encouraged to bring pokers, rakes, grabbers, and other supplemental tools. To safeguard against ticks and other hazards, attendees are encouraged to wear long sleeves, pants, socks, and other protective attire.

“This Earth Day service project is a cherished tradition in the Freeport community that gives us all a chance to do our part to protect the planet,” Legislator Mulé said. “I invite everyone to join us at Brookside Preserve as we give Freeport’s Brookside Preserve some much-deserved springtime TLC.”

“On an occasion that is all about celebrating our planet and protecting it for future generations, there’s no better way to give back than rolling up our sleeves and beautifying one of our community’s great natural treasures,” Legislator Koslow said. “I’m excited to be a part of an event that has been Freeport together year after year for such a worthwhile cause.”
