Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced that Lamar Peters, New York’s top Elvis tribute artist and The Liverpool Shuffle will be performing at Eisenhower Park’s Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in East Meadow on Sunday, July 24th. The show will begin at 8:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Lamar Peters is New York’s top Elvis tribute artist. He was the first Elvis tribute artist to perform at B.B. King Blues Club in Times Square in New York City on Aug 17, 2013. Lamar has toured with the Heart of the King Ambassadors Show Production and has placed top 3 in the Ultimate Elvis Presley tribute contest sponsored by Elvis Presley Enterprises. The fast paced Ultimate Elvis Tribute Show, takes you back to the best of 1950’s Elvis rockabilly and through the 60s, and 70s of Elvis Presley’s career.
The Liverpool Shuffle is authentic live Beatles music performed by professional Beatlemaniacs! Originally formed in 2003 by Joe Refano, The Liverpool Shuffle brings together four veterans of the New York music scene with a combined 125 years of musical experience between them. They are all avowed Beatlemaniacs and it shows! The Liverpool Shuffle delights audiences of all ages with their fun, exciting and authentic recreation of a LIVE Beatle show with a real emphasis on faithfully performing the music the way it’s supposed to be!
Much of the programming at the Lakeside Theatre is made possible through the Nassau County Hotel/Motel Proceeds Grant, which are proceeds from taxes on hotel and motel rooms in Nassau County. Since 2006, Nassau County has received more than ten million dollars from the Hotel/Motel Proceeds Grant, which also has assisted in historic building restoration and other cultural enhancements.
About Eisenhower ParkEisenhower Park, operated by the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums, is located in East Meadow, with entrances on Hempstead Turnpike and Merrick Avenue. The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is located near parking fields 6 and 6A in Eisenhower Park. Since Lakeside Theatre is a venue with no formal seating, concertgoers are urged to bring folding chairs or blankets. Special accommodations are available for disabled patrons, including reserved parking, easily accessible restrooms, and a convenient reserved location on the hill.
