Nassau County Executive was honored as “Man of the Year” by the New York State Police Investigators Association at their annual dinner on Thursday, October 13th at The Carltun in Eisenhower Park.
“I thank the New York State Police Investigators Association for this honor,” said County Executive Mangano. “While I may be your Man of the Year, the real people of the year are the brave men and women in law enforcement who work tirelessly to protect our families and way of life.”
The New York State Police Investigators Association (NYSPIA) consists of approximately 1,100 Investigators and Senior Investigators assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in the NYS Police. NYSPIA recognized a need to provide financial assistance to its membership and their families in times of emergency and/or personal tragedy. An internal fund was established, which over the past nine years has provided over $200,000 to 182 members in need. Several years ago, the Board of Directors created the Emergency Assistance Fund, a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, in order to meet this compelling need.
