Mangano and Nassau SPCA Thank Attendees for Generous Pet Food Donations
Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano’s 4th Annual Nassau Barkfest was a tremendous success with thousands of attendees that enjoyed a Pet Costume Contest and Parade complete with prizes thanks to the sponsorship of the Nassau SPCA. The event took place this past weekend in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow and was also the host for countless rescue groups and animal friendly organizations many of whom had puppies and dogs for adoption. The event was sponsored by the Nassau SPCA and Long Island’s K98.3.
“I thank everyone that participated in our Pet Food Donation Drop that took place at the 4th Annual Nassau Barkfest,” said County Executive Mangano. “Thanks to our residents we were able to bring donated pet food items to the Long Island Cares Pantry in Freeport. These pet food items will help feed pets in need, which in turn keeps pets with their loved ones and out of shelters.”
Anyone interested in donating pet or regular food items, please feel free to contact the Freeport Long Island Cares Facility at (516) 442-5221 or visit during operating hours 84 Pine Street, Freeport.
