“The holiday season is an important time of year to pause, give thanks for all the many blessings that have come into our lives and make life better for those around us.
As the year comes to an end, we remember the brave men and women in law enforcement, our volunteer fire service and the United States Armed Forces. We give thanks for their dedication, courage and determination to protecting our way of life and religious freedoms. We ask that God watch over our protectors.
We also recognize the United States Marines Corps for their tradition of delivering Toys for Tots to those most in need this holiday season. Through the generosity of our citizens, Nassau County helped collect more new unwrapped toys than ever before and these donations will bring joy to a little girl or boy.
My wife Linda and I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, good health and a prosperous New Year!”
