Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, in collaboration with the Office of Minority Affairs and Coordinating Agency for Spanish Americans, today hosted a free Business Workshop for small business owners and start-ups. The workshop was designed to assist small business owners with registering to become MWBE-certified, obtain licensing requirements and business certification, and discover lending opportunities. The event also provided valuable business-to-business networking opportunities.
“Nassau County has the lowest unemployment rate in the State of New York thanks to business-friendly policies and economic development opportunities created by my administration,” said County Executive Mangano. “This free business workshop helps support employers in growing their businesses here in Nassau County.”
Workshop participants included representatives from Farmingdale SBDC, La Fuerza CDC - A Community Development Financial Institution; the United States Small Business Administration; Gold Coast Bank, the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency, Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs, Nassau County Department of Health, Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office, Nassau County Clerk’s Office, the Nassau County Officeof Minority Affairs and the Nassau County Coordinating Agency for Spanish Americans (CASA).
