Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, in partnership with the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency and Semper4Veterans, today announced a 5K/10K Walk and Run for Veterans on Saturday, August 26th from 9:00am-12:00pm at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.
“My administration is committed to serving our veterans and ensuring resources are provided to them once they return home from service,” said County Executive Mangano. “I thank Semper4Veterans for partnering with us for this event, and helping to provide much needed assistance to our local veterans, including rental assistance, employment, food, clothing and other living expenses.”
The 5K/10K Veterans Walk & Run 2017 will help disadvantaged veterans with much needed assistance to include housing, suicide prevention and help sponsor the bi-annual stand down event. All donations and race proceeds will assist local veterans through the Semper4Veterans Organization.
Awards will be presented for the fastest runners of the 5K and 10K races. Donations will be accepted in place of walking or running.
