Joining the fight against prostate cancer, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and the Integrated Medical Foundation encourage men over the age of 40 to have their PSA level checked annually and to sign up for the Sunday, June 4th “Belmont Stakes Run for Prostate Cancer.” The run, with the help of the Greater Long Island Running Club, is a 5K evening run and walk through historic Belmont Park, ending at the actual finish line of the Belmont Stakes Racetrack.
Participation in the race will help fight prostate cancer by raising funds for prostate cancer awareness, education and support. Free on site prostate cancer PSA screenings will be available from 6:00-8:30pm for all men age 40+ who bring photo identification and have not been previously diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Everyone who signs up for the “Belmont Stakes Run for Prostate Cancer” will receive an exclusive giveaway. Refreshments and a health exhibit will be onsite for all registered. To register for the “Belmont Stakes Run for Prostate Cancer” visit www.GLIRC.org or call the Greater Long Island Running Club at (516) 349-7646.
