Mineola, NY –Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano joined Devon Giordano, Director of the One Island Giving Campaign and Darren Sandow, Executive Director of the Hagedorn Foundation, in celebration of One Island Giving Day, on Thursday, October 19th at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola. One Island Giving Day is a campaign working to raise $1 million for local, LI-based nonprofit organizations. The dome of the Theodore Roosevelt building was lit green and blue in honor of this important effort.“I want to thank the One Island Giving Campaign for organizing this important coalition of nonprofit organizations, with the common goal of building a better and stronger Long Island,” said County Executive Mangano. “I encourage each and every Nassau resident to give what they can. There are over 100 nonprofits participating, so find a cause that matters most to you. Every little bit helps.”There are 3 ways to donate on One Island Giving Day. You can simply give to your favorite Long Island nonprofit organization; you can give to the “It’s Our Island Project,” which is a group of community-based organizations working in partnership; or you can give to the “Love them All” fund, which will disburse your donation among all the participating organizations.
