Legislator Siela Bynoe along with the American Red Cross Spread Awareness of Fire Preparedness at ‘FREE Smoke Detector Installation Day’ to be held Tomorrow at Site Where Fire Occurred Last Year
Smoke Detector Installation Day to save local residents’ lives by offering free preventative emergency equipment at 100 Terrace Avenue, Hempstead, site of Fire that affected many residents nearly a year ago

WHAT: The “FREE Smoke Detector Installation Day” Event, hosted by The American Red 
Cross, is about giving local residents access to the necessary equipment for protecting and preparing for emergency fires. "Our message is simple: smoke alarms save lives,” said Elizabeth Barker, interim CEO of the American Red Cross on Long Island. Come join us to protect your family and home while supplies last.
"Each resident that participates in this program represents another family whose lives could be saved from the tragedy of fire and smoke," said Legislator Bynoe. “By partnering with the American Red Cross to provide fire alarms to our local residents, we’re connecting directly with the community to save lives. Each smoke alarm represents countless lives saved and we're truly thankful to the American Red Cross for bringing this initiative to Long Island."
